About
Central Iowa Water Works (CIWW) was formally established on April 11, 2024, when 12 founding members representing local communities, utilities and rural water providers came together to create the first-ever regional drinking water authority. Today, CIWW serves rural, suburban, and urban areas across central Iowa.
- Shared governance of water production.
- Collaboration among 12 founding entities.
- Resiliency that assures future access and supply.
- Local independence with regional water production.
- Unified voice in source water protection.
CIWW does not replace local water utilities, rural providers or city water departments. They remain the contacts for new accounts, bill-paying and customer service. Find your local provider here.
